“Monica Juarez is a Mexican American artist from the San Fernando Valley, CA. Her art practice combines soft sculpture, ceramics, and video to create fairytale worlds that entangle histories of the land in Southern California and Western Mexico. Her playful installations featuring a constellation of clay figurines and animated worlds, remember what has been stolen, lost, and hidden beneath the violence of empires. Recent exhibitions include NCECA 2026 and Junior High Los Angeles, among others. She received her BA in art from UCLA in 2021 and is currently pursuing her MFA in Design and Media Arts at UCLA (2028).”
